How to Test Your
Internet Marketing Ideas...

Adwords Campaign

Here's a really simple, quick, and easy way to test your niche marketing ideas: run a brief Adwords campaign.

Many Internet Marketers put the "cart before the horse", jumping into a niche, even creating a product before they know whether people will buy.

You're not trying to sell yet, and in fact anything past the click doesn't matter - yet. You just want to see if there is QUALIFIED interest. If you display a price and people click, you know there is qualified interest.

Create just a single ad targeted to the niche you're considering, mention a product, and INCLUDE A PRICE. If you get clicks on the ad, you've got a winner. No clicks? You just saved yourself a whole lot of time, money, and frustration.

ClickBank Marketplace|Commission Junction

One of the most obvious ways to research a market is to use affiliate networks like Clickbank and Commission Junction. Both have thousands of different affiliate programs and products from hundreds of markets, and you can basically sort the programs by profitability.

You have the option of using their search feature to research your market or you can simply browse through the categories.

  1. Choose at least 3 products that appeal to you.
  2. Choose at least one product with a Clickbank Marketplace "gravity" of at least 20.
  3. Choose at least one product with dollar/sale of at $20. The higher the better. This will tell you how much the market is willing to pay for a product they want.

Keyword Search Tools

Overture, Google Keywords, WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, SEODigger are keyword research tools that can be used to find out how many search queries have been used in search engines for a particular product or niche.

Keep in mind that DEMAND DOES NOT EQUATE TO MONEY! The keyword tool should not be used to find your niche, but use it to...

  1. Qualify the niche you're interested in using...
  2. Explore your niche more deeply. Look for possible sub niches...
  3. Compare your niche with other niches. The higher the search volume, the better (at least 20000 searches in Overture and 2000 in Wordtracker).
